ok ok i hear you!but i'm still confuse about those terms:be friend with me or make friend with me (or whatever turns you on)?
i have never ever used the term "make friend" in my life B4...and now i SEE it poppin' out ev'rywhere inside this forum & i start wonderin' 'bout my englishsy
PS!the only time i say "make" is when i'm 'bout DO someone's GOOD or really BAD

i have never ever used the term "make friend"... On close examination, I think "make friends with sb" feels pretty odd. I think "Can we be friends?" or "Will you be my friend?" or "Let's be friends" all sound better.
BTW, "befriend sb" sounds like feigning, superficial and improper favoritism. Or is it only me?
